Unique shapes and amazing detailing,  creative director  Josep Font doesn't disappoint again. Sweet pastel colors, floral patterns and architectural edge, this collection looks like it was mend to be for a minimalist fairy tale princess.

LVMH Announces Its Twelve Fashion Prize Finalists

The panel of experts has spoken, the votes are in, and today we can announce the twelve talents who will move on to the final round of the heated LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers competition. Atto by Julien Dossena, CG by Chris Gelinas, Gabriele Colangelo, Shayne Oliver’s Hood by Air, Jacquemus by Simon Porte Jacquemus, Miuniku by Nikita and Tina Sutradhar, Thomas Tait, Tillmann Lauterbach, Tim Coppens, Simone Rocha, Suno by Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty, and Vika Gazinskaya will go head-to-head for the award’s 300,000 euro grant.
But wait, you might be thinking. Weren’t there only supposed to be ten finalists? Yes, but LVMH’s team of forty industry insiders simply could not decide after surveying the work of the competition’s thirty semifinalists during an event at Paris fashion week. “It’s so hard,” offered Louis Vuitton’s executive vice president Delphine Arnault, who has been spearheading the initiative. “When we compiled the votes, four designers all had the same amount, so we let twelve in. I think it’s good.” We’re sure the finalists would agree.
The dozen men’s and womenswear designers, who hail from round the globe, will each have fifteen minutes to present their Fall ’14 collections at the LVMH headquarters in May. Judges including Karl Lagerfeld, Raf Simons, Nicolas Ghesquière, Marc Jacobs, Riccardo Tisci, and others will consider their efforts, and later choose a winner.

Peter Pilotto for Target

London-based label Peter Pilotto is known for its kaleidoscopic, futuristic, printed looks. On February 9, they’ll follow in the footsteps of designers like Phillip Lim and Prabal Gurung when they bring their neon-hued, digi-printed womenswear to the masses via a hotly anticipated collaboration with Target. The beachy seventy-piece capsule comprises trapezoidal-cut swimwear; some very boardwalk-to-street Vans-style trainers; lots of feminine, floral-layered hoop skirts; and some rash-guard-inspired separates. The range, which is priced between $14.99 and $79.99, will be the first of Target’s designer collaborations to be sold on Net-a-Porter—a testament to the quality of the work. Also a testament to the collection? Its campaign cast—not just anybody can get Jessica Stam and Jourdan Dunn to strike a pose.  Here are all the looks from the upcoming collection.

Nike and Riccardo Tisci Announce Collaboration

We thought 2013 was a huge year for Riccardo Tisci—what with his CFDA International Award, the Met Gala, and his costumes for the Opera Garnier. But ‘14 is shaping up to be just as big. The Givenchy designer has exclusively revealed to Style.com that he has collaborated with Nike. The fruits of the partnership, which will bear the logo NIKE RT, will arrive in stores and on Nike.com this Spring. “For me, Nike represents a lot: my childhood, America,” Tisci said. “In Europe, America is the flag, McDonald’s, Marlboro, and Nike, for a kid it’s very important.” The respect goes both ways. “We were impressed by his vision,” Ian Ginoza, Nike’s Global Footwear Director, said. “I personally wear some of the t-shirts; that’s something that Riccardo does well, blurring the lines with street fashion.”
Neither Tisci nor Nike went into detail about the categories represented in the collaboration, but it’s safe to say that footwear will be a major part of it. Tisci has worn the same style of Nikes for 16 years. “When I got the call, it sounded so strong, so perfect for my DNA. It’s a big honor for me, especially because they’re always working with sports people,” he continued. Nike has partnered with the likes of the industrial designer Mark Newsom, the artist Tom Sachs, and (infamously) Kanye West, but it rarely collaborates with fashion designers. “I couldn’t bring them technology, instead I brought my style, what people like me for and what the young generation follows me for,” Tisci added.

The top 10 women's colours for spring 2014 by Pantone

Designers take a modern twist on the traditional for spring 2014 by pairing soft pastels with vivid brights to create a colorful equilibrium. Inspired by a mixture of blooming flowers, travels abroad and strong, confident women, designers use color to refresh, revive and defy conventional wisdom.
Radiant Orchid, a bold counterpart to Violet Tulip, is the color of the year. Kate Middleton and Michelle Obama are fans.
Bright, but far from electric; 'dazzling blue' earned top place on list, making it your go-to colour this time next year.

Zaha Hadid for Caspita

Zaha Hadid for Caspita diamond pave Skein rings.

Zaha Hadid threw a party at her East London gallery on Thursday night to celebrate her collaboration with Swiss jewelry brand Caspita.

Hadid and Caspita designer Arlène Bonnant have collaborated on “Skein,” a limited edition ring and bracelet which come in variations of white, yellow, black and rose gold, some inlaid with pavé diamonds. Cellular structures found in nature inspired the mesh-like designs.

The Pritzker prize winner is no stranger to the fashion world, since She’s designed runways for Chanelshoes for Lacoste, and was even named Woman of the Year by Glamour Magazine in 2012.
One of her latest foray into fashion—designing shoes in collaboration with Rem D. Koolhaas’s brand United Nude— brings her architectural style to the feet of ladies willing to shell out $2000 USD for a pair of daring, cantilevered heels.

The fashion dolls for UNICEF

Forty-two fashion designers are participating in UNICEF’s designer dolls initiative known as Les Frimousses (or little faces, in English), now in its 11th edition. It's not the first time for fashion houses like Chanel, Dior and Lanvin to partecipate reports WWD.

The dolls are to be on show at the Petit Palais from Nov. 26 to Dec. 1 and then go under the hammer during an auction on Dec. 2 at the Four Seasons Hotel Georges V.

Last year, the reserve price for each little toy was 500 euros, or $647 at current exchange. UNICEF is to distribute funds raised from the sale to help vaccinate children in Sudan’s Darfur region.

Here are some of the fashionable dolls.  Which is your favorite?

Public School Named Winner of the 2013 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund

Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of Public School

Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of Public School have been named the winners of the competition—which is celebrating its tenth year—and are joining the storied ranks of other once up-and-coming American designers including Alexander Wang, Joseph Altuzarra, and the Elder Statesman’s Greg Chait. The award, which was presented by Tom Ford, is one of the most coveted prizes in the industry; not only does the winner receive $300,000 to invest in their label, but they will also earn a yearlong mentorship with an industry veteran to help take their business to the next level. The two runners-up—Juan Carlos Obando and Marc Alary—will receive $100,000 and a mentorship as well. The dinner, which was held in New York City featured a rousing speech by Mr. Ford, which included tips on surviving in the world of fashion. “In the end, it is you who chooses what path to forge,” he advised the audience. “Trust your instincts.”

MB Russia Fashion Week

From eclectic street style to international catwalk models, sartorial innovation and heritage Russian fashion, Moscow sends out a clear message to the world: “We speak the universal language of style!”
As Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia saunters into its final day, the week’s offerings have been nothing short of spectacular and confirm Moscow’s position as the sublime fashion hub for Russian-speaking designers. Here are all the best bits of the spring-summer 2013-14 collections (according to me)!
I fell in love with the Ruban collection, got crazy for Lublu  Kira Plastinina and Alena  Akhmadullina prints and liked very much the rest.
Hope you enjoy the collection as much as I did
